Sealed glass units, built to order
An insulated glass unit (IGU) — also called a sealed glass unit or double glazed unit — is two or more panes of glass bonded around a sealed, gas-filled cavity. We manufacture double glazed glass units and triple glazed sealed glass units to your exact millimetre sizes: choose your panes, cavity, spacer bar and gas fill, add toughened safety glass to EN 12150 where regulations require it, and see the price update as you type.
Replacement sealed units for misted or failed double glazing, new-build and renovation glazing, Georgian bar and leaded designs, patterned glass, and units with cut-outs or shaped panes — every one drawn live to scale as you build it, then cut, sealed and quality-checked in our own UK workshop.

Sealed units, answered
What is an insulated glass unit (IGU)?
An insulated glass unit — also called a sealed glass unit or double glazed unit — is two or more panes of glass bonded around a sealed cavity, usually filled with air or an inert gas such as argon. The sealed cavity is what insulates: it cuts heat loss and reduces noise compared with single glazing. We manufacture IGUs to order, to your exact millimetre measurements.
What is the difference between double glazed and triple glazed sealed units?
A double glazed unit has two panes and one sealed cavity; a triple glazed sealed unit has three panes and two cavities. Triple glazing improves thermal insulation and noise reduction further, at a greater thickness and weight. Our configurator prices both instantly and shows the overall unit thickness as you choose panes and cavities.
Do you make replacement sealed units for misted or failed double glazing?
Yes. Measure your existing unit, enter the width, height and thickness in the configurator, and we manufacture a replacement sealed glass unit to the millimetre — including Georgian bars, leaded designs and patterned glass to match the original. You see the price instantly as you type.
When do I need toughened safety glass?
UK building regulations require safety glass in critical locations — typically doors, glazing beside doors, and glazing below 800mm from floor level. We toughen glass to BS EN 12150; the configurator recommends toughening automatically for sizes and uses that need it.
How quickly can I get made-to-measure glass units?
Orders of 2–3 standard non-toughened sealed units are ready to collect in 24 hours — our fastest lead time. Larger orders, toughened units and special glass follow our standard lead times shown at checkout, with delivery on our own vans across the UK or free collection from our workshop.
Do trade customers get discounted pricing?
Yes. Open a free trade account as a sole trader or limited company and trade pricing is applied automatically to every order. You can also save and restore quotes, upload cutting lists, and reorder previous jobs from your account.
*Collect in 24 hours applies to orders of 2–3 standard non-toughened sealed units.
